01. 1. Choose one main conversion
A profile that offers eight equal actions gets none of them done. Decide what a successful visit looks like — a saved contact, a booked call, a downloaded document — and build the rest around it.
The other actions do not disappear; they move below, in a lower rank.
02. 2. Make your identity clear on the first screen
Someone who opens your profile after a five-minute conversation must recognise you in two seconds: a photo, a name, a role, a company. Anything that delays that recognition costs a visit.
Write the role in the words your interlocutors use, not in your internal job title.
03. 3. Rank the buttons and the links
One prominent button, two secondary ones, then the rest. A row of identical buttons transfers the decision to the visitor, who most often makes none.
Test the order with someone who does not know your work: what they touch first tells you whether the ranking is right.
04. 4. Give useful, current proof
A portfolio, a case, a figure, a client name if you are allowed to publish it. Proof turns an assertion into something checkable.
Dated proof is worth more than plentiful proof: a recent case beats ten old ones.
05. 5. Take care of the mobile read
Almost every visit happens on a phone, often standing, sometimes outdoors. Text large enough, buttons wide enough for a thumb, and no block that requires zooming.
Open your own profile outside, in the sun, on a small phone. It is the fastest test there is.
06. 6. Publish only what is necessary
Every published detail is a detail you can no longer take back from those who have already read it. A personal number, a home address, a private social account do not belong on a professional profile.
Ask of each field: does this help someone do the thing I want them to do?
07. 7. Measure a trend, then change one thing
Figures on a profile are only readable over time and in volume. Comparing two days tells you about the weather, not about your page.
Change one element, wait for enough visits, compare. Changing three at once means learning nothing from any of them.
